Description

An age-old Ukrainian tonic meaning ‘fermented drink’ which dates back to at least the Middle Ages.
The original beverage was made from fermenting stale bread and used more for its medicinal properties than epicurean.

Our recipe is made exclusively from organic beets, organic ginger root and Himalayan pink salt giving it a sweet and salty rich mineral undertones.
Beet Kvass is well known as a blood and liver cleanser.
Scientifically speaking, beets are high in betacyanin which can dramatically increase the oxygen-carrying ability of the blood. The deep red to violet pigments
of these powerful roots contain nutrient compounds that help protect the heart and blood vessels.
Nutritionally, beets are an excellent source of fiber, folate (vitamin B9), manganese, potassium, iron and vitamin C.
When fermented for four weeks, as we do in our kitchen, the tonic gains high nutritional values far exceeding its raw beet state.
Another benefit is Increased level of enzymes for improved digestion and healthy bacteria for a strong immune system.

Anecdotal reports indicate that beet kvass is an excellent therapy for chronic fatigue, chemical sensitivities, allergies and digestive problems.

Here at Wild at Heart Ojai, we ferment our products for up to 28 days, after which they are refrigerated in our kitchen until they are shipped to you and
they will need to be refrigerated when you receive them.

To save you on shipping costs, we use two-day shipping via USPS.
We will always mail your package on Tuesday to ensure that you receive your ferments by Thursday or Friday.
Due to the live nature of the product, a change in pressurization or temperature may mean the product will leak.
Please do not be alarmed. This is normal, just refrigerate them the day that you receive your package.
Rest assured, the product is completely fine.
